Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
We hope you enjoyed the festivities and the opportunity to spend time with friends and family. We've had a busy time here at the Red Lion with Christmas Parties, a visit from Santa and Port and Stilton Night as well as discos and live music.
More importantly, from a personal point of view, Daisy's son Charlie arrived early on 13th December! We're all in love with him and Daisy and Charlie are both doing well.
Thursday 29th we have a Charity Pub Quiz. The winning team gets to choose who the recipient charity is.
Friday 30th we have a female fronted rock band - Candy Slam - who come highly recommended.
Saturday 31st we have a New Years Eve Disco (with light buffet) so do join us if you can to see in 2012!
Looking further forward, we've Scottish Musicians booked for Burns Night on Wednesday 25th January and our Special Menu will be finalised soon.
Also in January, we're celebrating 'Trim Tuesday' - on each Tuesday we'll be offering Chef's Recommendations that are based on Weight Watchers and Slimming World principles. (The full menu will be available to those who have already abandoned their resolutions!
See you soon,
Kerry & Jon
The General Background Blurb:
Jon and Kerry took over The Red Lion in 2010. Having seen it through a fairly extensive refurbishment we now invite you to enjoy a traditional village pub that can offer everything you might expect and, hopefully, a bit more.
The traditional two-bar layout means that you can enjoy pursuits such as darts, skittles and pool in a friendly and bright bar, or relax in comfortable seats and enjoy a pleasant conversation in our cosy lounge. The patio and garden at the rear of the pub provides a relaxed area for al-fresco dining or a cooling drink on a warm day, while the lawned area and childrens’ toys will engage younger visitors, so their parents can get the most out of their own visit.
Our philosophy is that quality is paramount and this applies especially to the food and drink we serve. We prefer a smaller menu to one that would require us to stock frozen mass-produced dishes, and everything is ‘home-made’ and cooked to order.
Similarly, we take real pride in our Cask Marque Accredited Real Ale, the standard of our other draught and bottled drinks, and our delicious coffee.
For many years the Red Lion in Bozeat has been a significant music venue in the area and we have been happy to continue this tradition, whilst extending the choice of music available and thereby broadening the appeal.
So, pop in during the day for lunch or even just a great cup of coffee; bring the kids at the weekend and let them play in the enclosed garden while you enjoy a sandwich on the patio; then pop back once the babysitter is settled in to enjoy a meal with friends and stay for great live music in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
If you live in or around the village, we are here to meet your needs, so if there is something we can do to help (e.g. help with a charitable event, provide a meeting place, be a venue for a party or celebration) then let us know – we will do all we can to help.
If you are coming to the Red Lion from further afield, rest assured we will do all we can to make your visit as great as you could hope for. Great food, superb beer, friendly welcoming staff and a lively atmosphere will all combine to make your visit memorable.
We look forward to seeing you.
Jon & Kerry x
